About RaisingMoney.com

RaisingMoney.com is an independent publication about raising capital. We explain how the main options work for founders and small-business owners, and how the investors and lenders on the other side of the table think about them. That covers angel investment, venture capital, SBA and other business loans, grants, crowdfunding and revenue-based financing.

What we do

  • Publish practical guides, written for people who are about to raise money, not for people who already know how.
  • Explain the trade-offs: what each kind of capital costs you in equity, control, repayment and time.
  • Keep our articles current, and correct them when they're wrong (see our editorial standards).
  • Offer free tools (calculators and a readiness score), a funding matcher that shows which kinds of capital fit your business, and an opt-in investor directory.

What we don't do

  • We are not a broker-dealer, funding portal, investment adviser or lender. We don't sell securities, make loans, or take a cut of money you raise.
  • We don't give personalised investment, legal or tax advice. Our articles explain how things generally work. For your situation, talk to a qualified professional.
  • We don't recommend or endorse specific lenders or investors. If you ask us to, we may introduce you to a lender or adviser we work with. Some may pay us a referral fee, and we'll tell you before any introduction whether one applies.
